NCPCV Accomplishments
Since its’ inception, the organization of NCPCV has accomplished the following initiatives
•Creator of No COLORS: 100 Ways to Stop Gangs from Taking Away our Communities
•Partnering with Virginia Tech’s Center for Applied Behavioral Sciences. This joint partnership will work in developing new practice models to combat bullying, gangs, and youth violence.
•Developed model bullying policy for the Virginia Department of Education
•Developed and implemented a Gun Safety Program for the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Education for students K-5
•Developing Athlete-Coach mentoring for anti-gang programs at Old Dominion University Athletic Department
•Training and educating police officers in working with troubled youth in Memphis, TN, Newport News and other communities
•Co-sponsoring series of Annual Bullying Conferences for educators with Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) and Christopher Newport University
•Directed America’s top crime prevention efforts in Richmond, Virginia: Gang Reduction and Intervention Program (G.R.I.P)
